Lord James Balch
In 1874, a band of S'Klallams under the leadership of Lord James Balch had raised $500 in gold coin and purchased a 210-acre plot on the shores of Dungeness Bay. The settlement was named Jamestown in honor of Lord James Balch.

Planning Department

The Planning Program focuses primarily on the long-range development and implementation of the projects and activities identified in the Tribal Comprehensive Plan and its associated sub-plans, such as the Transportation Plan and Vision Master Plan. Planning staff work with all Tribal departments to develop federal, state and local grant proposals for funding program enhancements as opportunities become available. Projects funded as a result of Planning efforts include:

  • Elder Caregiver Support
